Scruffy
I've been feeling a bit under the weather since Tuesday evening. Just enough that it really wasn't worth the added time, stress, and money to make the commute into the office for the second half of the week (especially when I can do just about everything I need to from home).
Not having to be seen in public, I haven't bothered to shave since Tuesday morning. This has reminded me of two things. 1) I can't even hope to grow the beard I've always wanted and 2) really, I should probably stay clean-shaven because of that. A new, third, thing has come up. I've noticed that pretty much all the gray hair I have would show up in my sad excuse for beard.
This last thing annoys me geratly as I know, thanks to Halloween costumes past, that I look awesome gray. I keep hoping to wake up and find the hair at my temples Doctor Strange streaked with silver or long stripes of white in my hair.
Looking at the genetic background, it's going to be many more years before there's more than just a strand or three of gray anywhere on my head.
So, yeah, I'm a little scruffy right now.
Being sick, I haven't been anywhere near as productive as I'd hoped. Seems that getting old makes it more difficult to push through the little things like not being able to breathe and whatnot.
Feeling a little better now, at least good enough to clean up and head out to be among people tonight. Even being slightly productive today... well, in the few hours before I leave, at least.
Soon I'll be dressed up in going out clothes and have my face shaved smooth. Then, shortly thereafter, I'll be whooping it up among good friends in the usual Saturday night venue. And early into the morning... well, who knows what will happen.
More Important Stuff
There are now only 90 days left until the end of the year. Ten percent of the 100 Day Century Countdown Challenge has passed and I don't have a whole lot to show for it. Some of this, I credit to beign sick. Most of it, though, is paralysis of choices. There are simply so many things I could do that I haven't really chosen where to start.
Well, before I go out tonight, I'm going to fix that. In the next three hours, there will be one public domain work chosed and put in the queue for monetization. Probably something that can be connected up to How to Crush Without Being Crushed or The Searcher Journal.
Then, on Sunday, I'll crank out some articles for my sites, so they can come back to life this first full week of October. Got to put together a bit of an editorial schedule for Without Being Crushed, at least... gear up for a big push in February.
Should also get some more content up over at the Century Countdown site. Want to have a "prompt a day" set up for things that people can do any given day to keep their lives interesting and moving forward. (And if you've got any ideas you'd like to see up there, let me know.)
Here's hoping the past week has been better for bunches of you than it has for me.
