Showing Up Here Since Christmas 1999

A Small Christmas TreeJust before midnight rolled around on Christmas 1999, I fully made the leap into the online world.

Up until that point, I'd been running my online presence out of a GeoCities account and/or my college's server. My time on the college's server was quickly running out and there was always a lot to annoy me about GoeCities (though, at the time, it was without a doubt one of the best free webhosts around and had, by far, the most interesting base concept that was probably a little ahead of its time). After a good deal of time--months, actually--thinking about it, I finally logged on to Network solutions and registered Durosia.com.

Ever since then, it's been my home on the web. For more than a decade now you've been able to get me e-mail via kier at Durosia.com. If you've been checking in here with any frequency over the last ten years, you've seen at least a half dozen different versions of this site running on at least two different content management systems (I started with some static pages, then moved to PHP Nuke and, just over five years ago, switched to Drupal).

In the time that Durosia.com has been my home base, it's also become my hub, the center of a small network of other sites--right now most notably including How to Crush Without Being Crushed, probably the most visited site I own and the one that I'm counting on to make me some money in the new year.

That year, this space was my gift to myself. It was my claim, staked in cyberspace, from which I'd hoped to strike gold.

And while those mythical post-boom riches haven't materialized on their own, I do still think they're out there.

In the coming year, as has been the case in the past year, I'll be working on getting more content out to the people who actually take the time to read this. Internet riches don't manifest on their own. They take work... and that's what I'm going to continue doing here.

Just yesterday, David Risley, one of the many successful blog-based entrepreneurs I now follow regularly, just released a revised version of his Six Figure Blogger Blueprint and will be (re)kicking off his Blogmasters Club. A publication I can definitely stand behind, as the original version had some great information in it and a membership section I can safely say, even without having been in it yet, would be exceptionally useful to anyone looking to make money via blogging.

If I'd come across good, clear information like David provides a decade ago, I'd probably be much better off now. As it is, even though I've been in the online game for longer than most, I've never really worked at making it profitable.

But you can.

This Christmas, give yourself a gift. Go get the brand-spankin' new Six-Figure Blogger Blueprint. It's free and, if you work at it, could be your ticket to freedom.

And if you happen to decide to really dive in and sign up for the Blogmaster's Club or his 3 Day Money video course (which I have been through and can tell you it's definitely full of good information), we all win, because I believe so much in what David puts out that I signed up to be an affiliate... any purchase you make nets me a little extra cash. (But, really, I simply don't talk good about things to get paid--this information is as good as advertised.)

Merry Christmas, Everyone.
