VISIONARY REVUE

Despite the not so grand design of the site itself, the content is really good. Esoteric, occult, surreal, and just plain strange art from artists that most people have probably never heard of. I like it. Some of it is the kind of stuff I'd love to have on my walls. Mostly I'm just kind of jealous that I don't see the world in quite as unique as way as these artists (and that I can't even create visual art to show how the world looks to me... guess I'll just stick with words). Went out to an art opening Saturday night, as planned.

As expected, the art I went to see (and the artist I went to support) was fantastic.

But what really surprised me was the timing and overall serendipity of it all.

Getting off the Metro in Alexandria, Josh and I immediately met up with Doug, Nu and Tony who had popped on the train a few cars ahead of us somewhere along the route. walking in the door to the gallery when we got there were another few of our mutual friends.

For those of you who don't frequent Boing Boing, you should. There's never a lack of something interesting there. (Granted, sometimes I've already seen it somewhere else first, but the Boing Boing columnists usually have some extra added bits of insight or snark that keep seeing the same thing twice from being boring.)
