Mars Needs... Lifeguards?

OK, maybe not.

But the newest probe to successfully land on the Red Planet may have already found one of the things it's looking for.

The Phoenix probe may have found ice right underneath itself.

This is very good news for those of us who are pushing for there to be actual life on Mars. Even if it is microbial.

Water ice and microbes mean that there's a good chance the place could sustain a human presence of some sort.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I find this very exciting.
